Photographer Deičmane's solo exhibit opens
From January 19 to March 3 in Riga Gallery, don't miss Evelīna Deičmane's solo exhibition of her latest photographs, titled "Melnās pasakas"/"Black Fairy Tales".
As curator Inese Riņķe points out, here Deičmane shows her ability to balance on the line between reality and absurdity, in a state between sleep and awake, where the horrific and comic converge.
In developing this show along with the French artist Theo Mercier, Deičmane confirms her yen for experimentation, visually evocative, illusionary images.
Deičmane, born 1978, educated in Riga and Berlin, has displayed her works at home and abroad to much acclaim. |
